ORIGINAL ARTICLE:

Within the world of basketball sneakers, few signature lines can compare to the late Kobe Bryant’s run with Nike. Despite its absence from general releases in recent years, plenty of NBA stars are spotted in various models from the “Black Mamba.” However, things are set to change with Nike sharing that it’s officially relaunching its Kobe line on Kobe Day 2023, taking place on August 24. One pair that has been rumored to shake things up this year is the long-awaited release of the “Reverse Grinch,” initially spotted via Lakers star Anthony Davis.

Flipping the iconic “Grinch” colorway — which Hypebeast ranked as the best Christmas sneaker of all-time last year — the “Reverse Grinch” sees red cover all but the laces, tongue branding and Swooshes of the Kobe 6 Protro. Replicating the design of its green predecessor, the upper features a scaly texture while black contrast arrives courtesy of the Swooshes affixed to each side. Rounding out the look, the classic neon green hue enlivens the laces and Kobe branding at the tongue.

While Nike has yet to disclose any details regarding the launch of the Kobe 6 Protro “Reverse Grinch,” it’s currently expected to launch via Nike SNKRS and select retailers at a price of $180 USD on December 16. You can also cop an early pair via Flight Club and GOAT now.
