Nike has officially revealed the Nike Kobe 3 Protro “Orca”, marking the return of one of the silhouette’s original mid-top colorways. The upcoming release revives a fan-favorite design originally worn during Kobe Bryant’s 2007–08 MVP season.

he retro model stays true to its original build, highlighted by a diamond-patterned upper covered almost entirely in black. A contrasting Swoosh breaks up the dark upper, while subtle gold detailing extends through the center of the shoe to add separation to the monochromatic structure.

While the Kobe 3 holds a distinct place in Bryant’s signature lineage, the “Orca” iteration gained renewed visibility after PJ Tucker wore the original pair on court during the 2024 NBA season. The silhouette originally debuted during a landmark career stretch for Bryant, who earned MVP honors, All-NBA and All-Defensive selections, and an NBA Finals appearance while wearing the model.
