Eminem Joins Ed Sheeran To Perform "Lose Yourself" in Detroit
The pair also reprised their 2022 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame rendition of “Stan.”
During the Detroit stop on his Mathematics Tour on Saturday, Ed Sheeran surprised Michigan fans with a special-guest performance from hometown rapper Eminem.
In a video shared on Sheeran’s Instagram, the singer teased Slim Shady’s appearance by telling the audience he wanted to rap one of his songs. “I wondered if I could play you a cover of an Eminem song tonight,” Sheeran said to the crowd. “I think you know it. We rehearsed it today; we’ll see how it goes.” He began playing the intro to “Lose Yourself” and reciting the track’s opening lines, before Eminem himself emerged on stage to take over the microphone.
“Detroit. What a moment,” Sheeran captioned the post.

After performing “Lose Yourself,” Sheeran addressed the crowd once more: “Can I just say, he was gonna come out and do one song, but I said you can’t come out in Detroit and just do one song. Do you want another song?” The pair then performed their 2022 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame rendition of “Stan.”
“Detroit, I missed you,” Eminem said, following the performance. “I appreciate you, Detroit. I love you.”
The artists have collaborated on numerous occasions, with Sheeran hopping on Eminem’s “River” and “Those Kinda Nights.” Eminem also appeared on Sheeran’s “Remember The Name,” alongside 50 Cent.
