Nike Reveals the Air Force 1 Wild in "Rugged Orange"
Introducing a functionality-focused take on the AF1.
When it comes to silhouettes that have stood the test of time, Nike has an archive rivaled by very few footwear brands. Nowadays, everything from the Air Jordan 1 to the Air Max 1 have been revisited, remixed and remastered by the Swoosh — offering homages to the past and modern renditions of these silhouettes. For the Air Force 1, its fifth decade on shelves sees it take on yet another fresh look — named the Air Force 1 Wild.
The latest take on the AF1 to hit the scene, the “Wild” version of the sneaker taps into the great outdoors with its hiking shoe-inspired construction. Leaning on a durable material composition, the shoe sees familiar elements such as the Air Humara’s checkered sole combine with the shape of the AF1. Backing this functionality-focused approach, the tongue has been slimmed and carries a pulltab while the heel has been reinforced with an inner layer. In “Rugged Orange,” a rusty hue covers a majority of the colorway with black chiming in at the eyestays, lining, tongue and heel branding, lateral stitches and outsole.
At the time of writing, Nike has not yet disclosed any of the Air Force 1 Wild’s official specifications or release info. Stay tuned for updates regarding this new silhouette and look for it to land on shelves in women’s sizing this fall via Nike and select retailers at a price of $140 USD.
