Hikaru Utada just dropped her latest track “Gold – Mata Au Hi Made -“ (Gold – Till the day we see each other again). Co-produced with PC Music’s founder, A. G. COOK, marking the duo’s third collaboration following “Kimini Muchuu” and “One Last Kiss,” the megahit theme song for Evangelion: 3.0+1.0.
A soulful ballad starring Utada’s signature raspy yet mellifluous R&B vocals, the track is accompanied by lyrics that seamlessly shift from Japanese to English — another signature from the singer-songwriter. It’s also used as the official theme song for Kingdom 3: Flame of Destiny, the newly released Japanese live-action film adapted from Yasuhisa Hara’s manga of the same name.
