The New Music Friday Drops We're Bumping First
Albums from Drake and Lucki and singles from The Strokes and Show Me The Body.
One of the most anticipated New Music Fridays is upon us at last, stamped by Drake’s ICEMAN release. But there’s a lot more good stuff on the docket as well. Everything we’re listening to first below.
Drake – ICEMAN
At long last, the Iceman cometh. For his ninth studio record, Drake will present ICEMAN. All eyes are on the rapper this New Music Friday as he finally delivers on the album he’s been teasing for almost two years in total. Stakes are high, to say the least.
Lucki – Drugs R Bad
After laying the groundwork with the DaysB4Bad*, LUCKI has lifted the veil on the full Drugs R Bad album. The heavily anticipated album marks the Detroit rapper’s first longform release since 2024’s GEMINI! and comes with a strong visual component as well.
Kenny Mason – BULLDAWG (Out Now)
Kenny Mason just calmly dropped one of the most exciting “rap” albums of the year on a Tuesday. BULLDAWG takes Mason’s genre-blurring, punk-influenced lane of hip hop to the next level, with assistance across the expansive tracklist coming from early-career collaborator JID, Paris, Texas, Dominic Fike, and SMJ.
BNYX – GENESIS FM
Superproducer is making his long-form debut with GENESIS FM, which features an A-list range of contributing artists from a myriad of different genres. Clocking in at 14 songs, the project
The Strokes – “Falling Out of Love”
Lifted from the group’s imminent Reality Awaits, The Stokes have shared new single “Falling Out of Love.” The album was recorded in Costa Rica with Rick Rubin, and finished around the world, making it the perfect predecessor to the band’s summer world tour which kicks off in June.
GIVĒON – BELOVED: ACT II
Billed as BELOVED: ACT II lands GIVĒON’s deluxe edition of his acclaimed 2025 album, Beloved. BELOVED: ACT II tacks on five new tracks to the beginning of the project, rounding out at 19 tracks in total. New contributions come from Kehlani, Leon Thomas, Sasha Keable, and Teddy Swims.
Show Me The Body – “No God” (Out Now)
Released in tandem with the Alone Together album announcement, comes high-octane new Show Me The Body single “No God.” The cut is also accompanied by a high-speed music video, made in partnership with infamous traffic “swimming” influencer, License.
