Fans of Only Murders in the Building will be excited to hear that Steve Martin has dropped the release date for the third season.

During his tour alongside Martin Short, the duo performed at the Walt Disney Theater. The comedic duo unveiled the news at the start to warm up the audience. Both Martin and Short were delivering updates to fans, even showing a picture of them alongside co-star Selena Gomez, as well as two new members for season three, Meryl Streep and Paul Rudd.

The series follows Martin and Short’s characters Charles-Haden Savage and Oliver Putnam, as well as Upper West Side neighbor Mabel Mora, played by Gomez. The three bond over their love for true crime podcasts which later see the thre end up solving their own mysterious murders happening around them. In the first season, the trio uncover the killing of fellow resident Tim Kono and in season two, they did the same for the building’s board president Bunny Folger while trying to clear their own names. The first season itself was nominated for 17 Emmys, winning three, as did the second season, also receiving critical acclaim and Emmy nominations.

At the show, Martin stated the premiere date of the new season, “Catch the new season, Augsut 8.” To which, his partner Short responded, “Our show is like Steve trying to pee — it streams for 33 minutes.” Look out for the third season landing on Disney+ later this summer.
