Merrell 1TRL doesn’t do conventional, which is why it has tapped the image-maker Elena Cremona to craft its Spring/Summer 2023 campaign, “My Trail.”
Embracing the elements of trails, Cremona’s work highlights the various paths one can take on a hike through life by using a collage format. As a result, the campaign blurs the lines between a utilitarian and naturist attitude, working with three models who rock either “Calisthenics,” “Dancer,” or “Rock Climber” as their identity.
Speaking on her work, Cremona said: “To me, there is no predictability in choosing your own path. We as humans waver, and we want to feel secure in changing our minds, yet feeling grounded in who we are/what we wear.” Bringing this mantra to life, the SS23 campaign spotlights tactile and technical footwear from the progressive Merrell 1TRL line, like the fan-favorite Moab or the more divisive Hut Moc 2 Pack, which can actually pack down and be stored or clipped onto a bag in transport.
