The Nike Air Force 1 Low "ATL" Celebrates the City's Music History
“The South owns the crown.”
This year, Nike is celebrating the 50th anniversary of hip-hop with a series of commemorative releases that reflect the US’ vast music culture. From the Air Force 1 High “Classics” to the Dunk Low “ATL,” Nike is birthing a cousin to the latter with the Air Force 1 Low “ATL.”
Paying tribute to the city’s limitless contributions to hip-hop, the Air Force 1 Low is fashioned with “Vibrant Picante Red” and “Glowing Bright Crimson” suede uppers. The former embraces the overlays with a fire-like finish, while the perforated toe boxes and medial panels are adorned with an orange tint. Semi-translucent Swooshes extend into the quarters and reflect Atlanta’s thumping musical landscape, completing the design with gilded city initials on the heel counters and insoles set atop standard two-toned sole units.
