Amaarae Announces Sophomore Album ‘Fountain Baby’
Also offering up a new track, “Reckless & Sweet.”
R&B/Afropop songstress Amaarae has announced her sophomore album, Fountain Baby.
Following behind her debut studio album, The Angel You Don’t Know, which was released in November 2020, the new project is set to arrive later this year. Since her last project, the Ghanaian singer has been featured on a couple of tracks like Tiwa Savage’s “Tales By Moonlight” and Blaqbonez’ “Bling.” To ring in the announcement of her forthcoming album, Amaarae has released a new track “Reckless & Sweeet” with an accompanying music video.
Soft and sensual yet oh-so-sweet, the seductive track discusses feelings of love and longing alongside a desire to protect one’s own peace. Alongside discussion of ambition, protection, money and love, the song gains its power from Amaarae’s enchanting melodies and Afropop arrangements that make it the perfect song year-round, day or night. Complimenting the track is a blue-light-bathed music video that shows Amaarae and what is seemingly two lovers.
