Original Story: Hot off the heels of dropping in its classic “Chicago” colorway, the Air Jordan 2 is making its way back into the spotlight this week with a preview of a new installment. Teased by way of early imagery, the Air Jordan 2 Low Craft “Atmosphere” has now popped up on the sneaker community’s radar.
Jordan Brand often likes to shake things up when it comes to its retro lineup by toying with various color palettes and materials, and that’s exactly what you see here. Rather than implement the usual leather constructions that you’d traditionally see on the Peter Moore and Bruce Kilgore-designed model, the sportswear company reworks its base layer with a seersucker fabric. Given that this material is lighter in weight and often seen on garments worn in warmer climate conditions, it makes sense that Jordan designers applied a soft pink and white color combination to express the essence of Summer and Spring. Up close, you’ll notice that the hues are formed in gingham patterns across the collars and parts of the quarter while the toe tips and forefoot arrive in striped fashion. Creamy trim can also be spotted atop the tongue’s wings logos, lace loops, interior liners and heel molds.
