Jacob & Co.'s Billionaire Timeless Treasure Costs $20M USD
Featuring 425 yellow diamonds measuring 216.89 carats, 57 baguette-cut yellow diamonds, and a halo of tsavorites.
Yes, that does say $20,000,000 USD — the price to pay if you want to get your hands on Jacob & Co.‘s latest masterpiece, the Billionaire Timeless Treasure.
After hunting the globe for three-and-a-half years to find only the very finest, exceptionally large and high-quality yellow diamonds, the imprint’s new watch has finally come to fruition. Using 880 carats of rough yellow diamonds, the final piece comes in at 216.89 carats after thousands of hours were spent Asscher-cutting each stone and laying each of the 425 diamonds out in a mosaic tile fashion.
Jacob & Co. doesn’t stop there, adding a ring of tsavorites framing the dial and 57 baguette-cut yellow diamonds, before showing the intricate horological work that’s gone into the dial and rear case.
Speaking on the project, CEO Benjamin Arabov said: “We’ve browsed the entire world for three and a half years in search of an unprecedented number of perfect gems. We’ve gathered them here, in our Geneva headquarters, where each one was scrutinized at rough stage, at cut stage, before and after setting. The incredible work done by our gem setters happened entirely here, in Geneva. We’ve combined our expertise in high jewelry with our skills in high watchmaking and used our drive to achieve what has never been done before. So we’ve created a unique piece that outshines every other high jewelry timepiece in opulence, exclusivity and diamond quality.”
The caliber — JCAM39 — is surrounded by those aforementioned green stones, while inside you’ll struggle to find the tourbillon, because it’s so thin. High jewelry meets high horological advancements, and this might be Jacob & Co.’s crown jewel.
