Paolo Banchero Flexes His Jordan Tatum 1 "Huevos Bancheros" PE
The Orlando Magic rookie draws inspiration from huevos rancheros — a classic Mexican breakfast.
Jayson Tatum is Jordan Brand‘s latest athlete to get his own signature shoe and has been lacing up a few of his own exclusive colorways on the court such as his “Blueprint” colorway. And as the season winds down to its final stretch, the Celtics superstar has lent his fellow Jumpman family member Paolo Banchero to fashion his own unique rendition: the Jordan Tatum 1 “Huevos Bancheros” PE.
The Orlando Magic rookie’s shoes draw inspiration from huevos rancheros — a classic Mexican breakfast that typically consists of eggs, tortillas and salsa. If you peek at a majority of the upper you’ll notice that the mesh panels, TPU frame and heel molds are all dialed to a beige hue, and this likely represents a cooked tortilla. Subtle pops of egg yolk-inspired yellow that’s peppered with black speckles poke out through the lace loops and borders of the aforementioned TPU frame. Additionally, you’ll find the interior liners doused in a bright orange while the tongues are fitted in olive green, the former of which may reference salsa and chorizo while the latter is a signifier of avocados and chiles. To further echo its motif, the insoles are printed with a playful food-inspired graphic that reads “Gameday Brunch, Now Serving Huevos Bancheros.”
