Fredericia Casts Børge Mogensen's Signature J39 Chair in New Shades
Coming in three variations.
Late designer Børge Mogensen approached his craft with a fusion of timelessness, natural accents and transgenerational elements. Now, his muted, yet elevated catalog is extending as its signature J39 chair has been cast in several new shades by Danish brand Fredericia.
Inspired by Mogensen’s life, the chair celebrated its 75th anniversary last year – making this the perfect time to update the aged beauty. The previous editions included oak, walnut, and beech constructions. Now, coming into the fold are water-based lacquers pebble gray and khaki green alongside a beech vintage lacquered. Regardless of the finish, the chairs are all constructed from beech wood for a smooth construction.
Additionally, the new shades were derived from his country house and design studio in Lynderup, Nothern Jutland. The brand is also set to unveil a few more shades later this year in September.
Check out the gallery above for a look at the offering. Børge Mogensen’s new J39 chairs are set to release next month at Fredericia for €416 EUR (about $449 USD).
In other news, Woodio’s toilets are made entirely from wood chips.
