Salomon Launches "EQUIPE" Apparel Capsule To Celebrate Its 75th Anniversary
Inspired by the brand’s archives.
In its 75 year history, Salomon has evolved into becoming not only a leader in outdoor apparel but a pioneer in streetwear as well. Last year, the Hypebeast team dug into the brand’s history — one that began with saw blade and ski edge fabrication and ended up on runways across the world. Commemorating what is just the beginning of Salomon’s conquest, a new “EQUIPE” apparel capsule reflects on the brand’s journey with pieces inspired by archived looks.
Leading the way, an outerwear selection of men’s and women’s windbreakers feature back ventilation alongside a polyester mesh designed to keep air circulating. Water-repellent DWR coating also enters the mix to ensure readiness for taking on the elements. As with the windbreaker, a bomber jacket arrives in a white women’s colorway and a black men’s edition with both toying with different fabrics and textures in a free-flowing build. Each top features lightweight and fast drying fabric with mesh inserts emphasizing performance and circulation. As for the bottoms, shorts and pants come with a Pertex polyamide ripstop shell and DWR coating as a water-repellent. Round things out, “EQUIPE” bucket hats and caps combine comfort and moisture management with a retro flair.
For more information, the Salomon “EQUIPE” capsule is available now via Salomon in limited quantities. Apparel prices start at $35 USD for the headwear and go up to $170 USD for the wind jackets.
