It’s been another breakout year for Ja Morant and the Memphis Grizzlies as they continue their ascent in the NBA’s Western Conference. However, that’s not the only place Morant has been flying high. Announced on Christmas Day of last year, Morant has his own performance sneaker coming out with Nike — the Ja 1. Following this news, the Nike Basketball team and Morant connected with us to discuss the process of bringing his dreams to reality in the shoe’s creation. Now, another striking look has been shared courtesy of the Swoosh, this time with Swarovski crystals lighting it up.

Dubbed the “Midnight” colorway — tying into the overarching theme of this first chapter for Morant and Nike — a clean all-black upper features dazzling detailing courtesy of Swarovski. The Swooshes showcase crystals within a black outline, wrapping around the shoe elegantly. In case that’s not enough, crystals also hit a special “12AM” dubrae and Nike Ja hangtag as the cherry on top. Supporting the eye-catching presentation, an icy blue translucent outsole carries “IT’S 12AM SOMEWHERE” text in Morant’s handwriting.

Stay tuned for official release information as a spring launch of the silhouette is expected to take place.

For more in the exciting world of footwear, Nike has shared official image breakdowns of all six of the kid-designed sneakers from the Doernbecher Freestyle XVIII collection.
