March Madness may not start for another month but adidas is hopping right into bracketology with the reveal of its inaugural Consortium Cup. 16 sneaker shops from around the globe are going head-to-head in this unprecedented sneaker design tournament from the Three Stripes. Its single-elimination format makes this a four round contest that will take place across the next four weeks with uniquely themed rounds. Backed by fan voting, winners of each round will see the concept hit shelves in limited quantities, totaling at 15 sneakers to be released from the event.

Up first, classic adidas sneakers have been outfitted, starring the ever-popular Samba, Superstar and Gazelle. Designs have not yet been revealed, however, a sneak peek at the silhouettes indicates that many competitors opted to use the Samba. Future rounds are said to highlight the Three Stripes’ basketball legacy, feature running innovation and conclude with a “top-secret finale.”

Round one of the Consortium Cup kicks off this Thursday with the first batch of winners announced Saturday. Future rounds will follow the same format with 48 hours of voting beginning on Thursdays and results shared two days later. Be sure to check out the Confirmed app this Thursday to vote and improve your chances of being able to purchase the winning sneakers.
