In the first couple of months of 2023, Reebok has been placing a heavy emphasis on collaborative projects as it has linked up with the likes of Palace, maharishi and Patta. And now, the vector brand is redirecting our attention back to its basketball division as it has explored its archives to reincarnate Reebok’s “The Blast” silhouette.

The model initially made its debut in 1996 as part of the Boston sportswear label’s Mobius Collection — a collection of performance sneakers that all shared a unique design motif that mimics continuous motion. During the late ’90s, “The Blast” was a refreshing product for the market to see as it was fashioned with an asymmetrical build that was foreign to the basketball sneaker market. Fast forward over 25 years later, the court-ready shoes are slated to return with all of their OG cues. The aggressive and spiky molds that lie on the lateral and medial walls are brought in to express the aesthetic of a paint explosion and its mismatching white and black panels create disruptive positive and negative energy.

Interested in copping? “The Blast” is scheduled to return on March 3 via Reebok for $150 USD.

Elsewhere in sneakers, Reebok recently reissued Kobe’s Reebok Question Mid “Yellow Toe” colorway.
