After cooking up a full-blown collection to celebrate Lunar New Year, Nike is tapping back into Chinese culture this season to piece together a special footwear colorway that commemorates the Longtaitou Festival. Using the Nike Air Max Plus as its canvas, the Swoosh design team salutes the celebration by equipping the classic Sportswear silhouette with a striking color scheme, graphic insoles and extra laces.

The ribbed uppers are immediately stand out thanks to their gradient backdrop. Playful blue, white and pink hues are brought together across the base and these come complemented with brown leather mudguards. Secondly, an extra set of laces loops through the holes closest to the collars and wraps around the mid-foot and underneath the treading to give the shoes more dimension and a unique aesthetic. Other captivating details that call out the Tang and Song dynasties’ festivities include the quarter panel Swooshes which are dripped out in red as well as the insoles that are readied with all-over graphics and Chinese characters.

Check out detailed images of the pair in the gallery above and sit tight for further confirmation on where and when they will be released.

Elsewhere in sneakers, the LeBron James x Nike Air Max 1 “Liverpool” has received a launch date.
