G-SHOCK’s “Virtual Rainbow” Series Pays Homage to Gaming Culture and E-Sports With Cyberpunk-Inspired Design
Four new models decorated with an RGB spectrum.
G-SHOCK returns with its latest “Virtual Rainbow” series, including the DW-6900RGB, GA-100RGB, GA-700RGB and GA-2100RGB models. Inspired by gaming culture and E-sports, the series is an ode to the RGB (red, green and blue) spectrum, with select models displaying a radiant multi-neon vapor deposition decorating the face. The color model is often used in tech as decorative lighting for cooling fans, keyboards, headphones and more to elevate your gear.
“Virtual Rainbow” taps into G-SHOCK’s adjacency to gaming culture through a cyberpunk-infused design, using glossy black resin and iridescent tones to create a futuristic aesthetic. The prism effect delivers on the brand’s signature rugged facade, with hypnotic illumination embellishing the face and hands. Adapting an RGB color story, the collection complements gamer setups while drawing design influence from modern digital and virtual environments.
The return of the signature DW-6900 model introduces a rounded face and triple graph dial display as a bold stylistic departure from the design of the DW-5900. Crafted from black resin and mineral glass, the DW-6900RGB and GA-100RGB are the most expressive of the range, showcasing a graduated rainbow deposition at the face, with built-in Afterglow backlighting. They measure 53.2mm and 55mm wide, respectively, in contrast to the mid-sized GA-2100RGB-1A (48.5mm). Deviations appear throughout the GA-2100RGB-1A and GA-700RGB, which rely on neon green hands and purple, blue and red accents throughout the face, along with a Super Illuminator LED.
In terms of technical aspects, all featured models are shock-resistant and equipped with 200-meter water resistance, a 1/100-second stopwatch, a countdown timer and five daily alarms.
