Launched in 2018, Brain Child is a Boston-based streetwear label with the mission of building a community and energizing the world’s inner child through creativity, design, and collaboration. Built around founder Doug Ansine’s love for Japanese animation and product design, Brain Child’s past collaborations include Akira-inspired tees with HIDDEN.NY and bodega pop-up merch with VANDY THE PINK. Focused on growing its own in-line offerings over the past few years, it now delivers its Spring 2023 “Always Nuclear” collection featuring its signature prints and graphics across cozy essentials.

Capturing the playful spirit of the brand are wavy hemmed hoodies featuring elongated drawstrings and thought bubble-shaped lace locks. Always Nuclear tees and sweatpants are found in white and chocolate tones while the reversible puffer vest arrives as a versatile statement piece with logo-shaped buttons. Rounding out the assortment are caps and jumbo canvas totes dressed in colorful camo prints and subtle branded details.

“This project has been an intensive labor of love. My main focus with Brain Child in this season has been developing the brand’s cut-and-sew offerings and creating full looks that not only work well together but also act as stand-alone pieces in your wardrobe,” Ansine shares with Hypebeast. “Everything from the speech bubble logo to the playfulness in the design language, roots back to my love for Japanese anime and manga. I want to continue putting out quality products that really showcase how far this brand can go and the unique space it holds within our community.”

Delivery 1 of Brain Child’s Spring 2023 collection is set to release on February 10 at 11:30 a.m. EST via the brand’s website.
