Following an artful collaboration with London-based illustrator Yuko Kondo in September of last year, Japanese design label BEDWIN & THE HEARTBREAKERS has returned with the official lookbook for its Spring/Summer 2023 collection. With a firm grip on the brand’s “Paramount Quality” ethos, the line straddles traditional tailoring and bold streetwear, with references to workwear, military uniforms and classic Americana.

The collection spans a wide spectrum of confident colors and bold prints. Button-down shirts are particularly loud and proud, with a light green iteration donning black-and-white racing stripes across its shoulders and an oversized cut mixing and matching striped fabrics with solid blues.

Jackets command similar attention, with a bevy of kaleidoscopic takes on classic constructions. Archetypal workwear coats are made youthful in bright tones; varsity jackets are unique in silky textiles, and a zip-up version goes full Dalmatian.

Meanwhile, pants are largely straight and fitted, but don’t let that bore you. Again, color makes all the difference, with kindred trousers appearing in hues of pink, red, mustard and blue, among other tones. Built for warmer weather, the line includes a selection of shorts that appears in flat tones and animal prints alike.

Take a look at BEDWIN & THE HEARTBREAKERS’ full SS23 collection in the gallery above.

In more fashion news, H&M tapped Mugler for its next designer collaboration.
