As brands gear up for springtime, adidas and its timeless Spezial line have presented new looks with the reveal of its Pre-Spring 2023 collection. Its carefully considered apparel range offers everything from technical outerwear to a new hat silhouette featuring adjustable ear flaps. However, its footwear presentation is where things really take a turn. Amidst the unique silhouettes, the Italia SPZL — a sneaker previously operated on by C.P. Company — stands out with its denim makeover.
A shoe inspired by terrace culture — though fitting in snugly with Americana styling with this rendition — the Italia SPZL goes denim-on-denim in its latest look. A nod to a pair previously outfitted in denim in the ’00s, a modern approach has been enlisted to balance past, present and future, a trademark of its overarching Spezial division. Its base features a true blue hue while the Three Stripes and additional overlays such as the heel’s X shape favor a lighter shade. Topping it all off, a brown leather adidas Spezial tag appears on the tongue alongside gold adidas Italia text printed towards the heel.
