Update: It’s been a few months since we last caught a glimpse at the upcoming release of Nike Basketball’s Kobe 4 Protro “Girl Dad” but the Swoosh has finally unveiled the long-awaited sneaker. Equipped with a green suede upper and black detailing, its “Girl Dad” embroidery at the tongue’s interior serves as its signature motif. Release for the pair is now set for June 7 via Nike SNKRS and select retailers at a price of $190 USD. For more info about the pair, be sure to review our previous updates below.

Update: Days after its first preview, a closer look at the Nike Kobe 4 Protro “Bicoastal” has now appeared. The “Girl Dad”-themed pair combines green and black across its suede build and is expected to release on May 31 next year at a price of $190 USD via Nike and select retailers. Stay tuned for additional updates in the coming months ahead of its launch.

Original Story: It’s become clear that when Nike Basketball shared that it would fully re-launch the Kobe line this year, the brand meant it. Looking ahead to 2024, there’s countless looks across the Kobe 4 Protro, Kobe 6 Protro and Kobe 8 Protro that have already been spotted via early pairs. For the Kobe 4 Protro specifically, its stealthy “Black Mamba” design launches later this month with a recently-revealed return of the “Philly” arrangement scheduled to hit shelves next year.

Now, we have a first look at a “Bicoastal” pair that sees green and black share space across the court-ready sneaker. Its upper dons a suede finish in green at the base and black at the Swooshes. A metallic silver enlivens the design at its heel counter, sporting a green signature detail while a debossed “24” appears at the heel. Silver is also used at the Nike Kobe logo located at the tongue and the colorway’s “Girl Dad” embroidery at the tongue’s interior. Supporting the sneaker, an icy outsole combines with a green midsole to complete the look.

At the time of writing, Nike has not disclosed any release details regarding this “Bicoastal” colorway of the Kobe 4 Protro. Stay tuned for updates regarding this pair and the silhouette in general as we currently expect the “Bicoastal” colorway to launch on May 31 of 2024 via Nike SNKRS and select Nike Basketball retailers at a starting price of $190 USD.
