PinkPantheress has dropped her first single of 2024, a cut featuring a beat inspired by an iconic Selena track, “Dreaming of You”. The song was the titular track of the late singer’s fifth and final album, which was released posthumously in July 1995, four months after her death.

For “Turn It Up,” PinkPantheress’ lyrics weave a love story between a woman named Maria and her unnamed crush.

“You just make me wanna say, ‘Hey, it’s me’” / We’ve been talking twice a week,” she sings. “I like this beat / It just makes me wanna sing.”

Beginning in July, the British artist will be kicking off her Capable of Love tour in celebration of her debut album, Heaven Knows. After a string of festival appearances, the run officially kicks off on July 19 in Philadelphia.
