Update: The excitement surrounding the rollout of the Nike Kobe line’s return continues with our best look yet at the Nike Kobe 4 Protro “Black Mamba.” Enjoy a detailed preview of the pair above as it remains expected to launch on December 26 via Nike SNKRS and select retailers at a price of $180 USD. For more info about the pair, review our previous coverage below.

Original Story: Fans of the late Kobe Bryant and his beloved Nike Kobe line are excited to finally fully dive back into the franchise with new (and familiar) looks popping up left and right. Nike celebrated both Kobe Day and his birthday last month with not only the launch of the Kobe 8 Protro “Halo,” but the return of four sought-after styles, including the Kobe 6 Protro “Grinch.” Now, another early preview of what’s next for the line has popped up.

Adding to the Nike Kobe 4 Protro lineup for 2023, a “Black Mamba” colorway has now surfaced. Its build leverages a nubuck base in black with snakeskin overlays and Swooshes similarly favoring an all-black look. Elsewhere, the shoe maintains a stealthy approach with Bryant’s signature in gold at the lateral heel serving as the only note of color throughout. Typical co-branding comes courtesy of the tongue’s Kobe logo and a “24” stamp at the heel.

While we await official confirmation from the Swoosh regarding the Kobe 4 Protro “Black Mamba” and its release procedure, a tentative release date of December 26 has been set via Nike SNKRS and select Nike Basketball retailers at a price of $180 USD.
