The AJ1 Golf "Pollen" Is Already Counting the Days Till Spring
The black and yellow “Pollen” colorway of 2021 receives a golf conversion.
Once Christmas is over, it’s natural to begin dreading the long winter ahead. But looking at the glass half full, the days are getting longer now, and the next big event on the golf calendar is the Masters. This appears to be the outlook that Jordan Brand is taking with the upcoming Air Jordan 1 High Golf “Pollen.”
As the name suggests, the high top silhouette converted from the courts to the links is dripping in that yellow powdery substance, so much so that you may want to pop a Benadryl. Of course, the “Pollen” colorway is reminiscent of others from the past Nike and Jumpman catalog like the “Iowa” Dunk from 1985 and more recently the AJ1 High “Pollen” from 2021. This latest rendition follows the latter almost identically. All the color blocking remains the same, as the Swooshes, overlays, laces and outsoles shine through in bright yellow while the underlying panels, toe boxes and tongue are treated to black.
The only differences lie in the updated branding which has been changed to the Jumpman placed above “Golf,” the grippier outsole and a slightly more orange hue of yellow. However, that could just be a case of lighting.
Interested parties won’t have to wait until Groundhog Day to get their hands on a pair. Expect a release date early in 2024 at a price of $210 USD via Nike.
