Palace Re-Engineers Its Favorite nanamica Garments For Heritage-Filled Collaboration
Palace x nanamica offers GORE-TEX parkas and coach’s jackets, reversible cardigans and more.
Palace and nanamica have come together for the first time, creating a capsule of updated takes on classic nanamica garments in celebration of nanamica’s 20th anniversary. Founded by Eiichiro Homma — the legendary designer and creative who spent several years at Goldwin and is also the creative director of The North Face Purple Label — in 2003, nanmica is known for its technical-yet-elegant sailing-inspired garments and use of wind-and-water-resistant materials like GORE-TEX, something that Palace is also extremely familiar with.
Key garments in the collection include a sage green fishtail GORE-TEX parka, a navy GORE-TEX coach’s jacket, and a reversible military-style puffer jacket that nanamica calls a “cardigan,” one side of which is olive green and the other side of which is tan. There’s also heavyweight hoodies and high-quality T-shirts, plus a GORE-TEX hat in both green and navy.
Look for the Palace x nanamica collection to release both in-store and online in the UK, Europe and the US at 11 AM local time on Friday, October 6. It’ll touch down in Japan and on Palace’s WeChat store a day later, Saturday, October 7 at 11 AM local time as well.
