Sony has just announced at this year’s CES that the shortage of the PlayStation 5 is officially over. Faced with great demand during a global supply chain shortage these past years, the PS5 was impossible to get for some, while others either lucked out or paid a premium for the console.

Sony Interactive Entertainment CEO Jim Ryan commented on the supply of the PS5 going into 2023 with, “Everyone who wants a PS5 should have a much easier time finding one at retailers globally, starting from this point forward.” Currently having sold 30 million units, on top of potentially releasing a new version of the console in 2023, the end of the shortage could mean that the PS5 will hit nine-digit sales figures like its predecessors.
