For Pre-Fall 2022, Wood Wood gathered sartorial influences from Seattle’s ’90s music scene — specifically, from the creative spunk that defined bands like Nirvana and Pearl Jam and the do-it-yourself nature of homemade zines that dominated the era.
In terms of design, the collection integrates popular techniques from that time, including lithograph printing, collage and thermographic reproduction, while reworking the label’s signature shapes with a range of exclusive textiles.
On the men’s side, the Pre-Fall offerings revitalize Wood Wood’s classic Andrew and Thor silhouettes in a wrinkled check, woven with creased texture, and welcome back the Halsey trouser and Ollie short in a warp-printed cine ripstop, which was created in partnership with the Italian technical mill Olmetex. Elsewhere, Japanese vent suiting takes center stage on a plethora of contemporary outerwear and bottoms, and an all-new Spike shirt acquaints itself with the brand’s traditional shapes.
For women’s, Wood Wood enlisted a vibrant color scheme across sheer two-piece ensembles and dresses, all of which are composed of a specialist Japanese fabric. Making a statement, an all-over eye print adorns the brand’s lightweight Tuli dress and Emma long-sleeve, while the Madeline blazer, Sadie trousers and Abigail shorts all boast a puppy tooth exterior.
