Nike Air Trainer 1 "Chlorophyll" Is Getting Another Retro Release
The Tinker Hatfield-designed classic gets revived.
Tinker Hatfield is responsible for engineering some of the most culture-shifting sneaker silhouettes and colorways for Nike and Jordan Brand. For the former, the iconic designer has a laundry list of Sportswear makeups in his Swoosh portfolio, one being the Nike Air Trainer 1 “Chlorophyll” which is slated to get another retro release. This iteration serves as a follow-up to its retro bring back from 2020.
Inspiration for the color schemes of this pair comes from Portland YMCA’s gym equipment. The base is made with a smooth leather build that is treated in white while suede gray overlays are situated atop the front, quarters and lower heels. Its titular hue pops up across the eyelets, Nike Air branding on the tongues and heels as well as the branding that is planted on the toe box straps. Rounding things off comes solid black doses which land on the lateral Swooshes and forefoot overlays.
A detailed look at the pair can be seen in the gallery above, and note that retailers like Sneaker Politics will be releasing them on May 13 for $120 USD.
