Dior's Ascent to the Top Continues With Its Dean Ankle Hiking Boot
Kim Jones and Thibo Denis serve a luxe take on tradition once more.

Following on from its H-Town Sandal release, Kim Jones and Thibo Denis of Dior have now dropped another footwear must-have dubbed the Dean Ankle Boot.
Coming as part of the house’s Fall 2022 collection, the Dean is a mishmash of nubuck calfskin, smooth calfskin leather and technical mesh, coming together to form a luxurious take on tactile hiking boots. It’s a theme that frequented Denis’ footwear designs this season, also influencing the aforementioned sandal.
For the Dean, which for now appears in “Brown/Ebony/Navy” or “Natural/Ebony/Burgundy,” not a single stone has been left unturned. Hallmark cues such as the “CD Diamond” emblem appears on the tongue while italicized Dior branding has been embroidered into the mesh paneling. Further diamond-shaped branding graces the rounded heel at the rear, and of course, block cap branding graces the interior.
However, it is details such as the technical rope lace system, the padded high uppers, and the thick notched rubber sole unit that’s cut with Dior signatures that elevate the traditional hiking aesthetic to one unequivocally designed by Jones and his team. A welded, side-sewn construction promises high levels of quality and wear resilience, subsequently rounding off the boot.
Dior’s Dean Ankle Boot can be seen in the gallery above and bought in-store or online now, globally, for $1,350 USD.
