YouTuber Showcases Steam Deck's Exceptional Emulation Capabilities
Running everything from Dreamcast to PlayStation 3 titles.
While reviews seem to point towards the Steam Deck not fully optimized to run current, modern games, it does however look pretty mighty when it comes to emulating older consoles.
Over on YouTube, gaming channel ETA Prime just published a video showcasing the myriad of emulation capabilities the new handheld device possesses. In the 10-minute clip, he runs through emulators for a whole range of consoles on the Steam Deck, playing games from the popular PlayStation 1, 2 and 3 and the original Xbox as well as other older devices, including the Sega Saturn and Dreamcast. It’ll also run emulators for Nintendo consoles, such as the GameCube and Wii U.
As you’ll see, all the games run pretty well on the platform, so even if you’re struggling to find a well-optimized title from the current Steam library, your Steam Deck still has plenty to offer.
Elsewhere in gaming, a battle royale mode has reportedly been leaked for Halo Infinite.
