Official Images of the UNDERCOVER x Nike Dunk High 1985 in "Black"
Jun Takahashi reworks the classic model with paint-splattered midsoles and oversized heel branding.
UNDERCOVER and Nike are longtime partners when it comes to creating compelling footwear collaborations, and the two parties have already worked on a multitude of silhouettes including that of the LDWaffle, Daybreak, Zoom Fly and more. In 2022, the Japanese streetwear label will be reuniting with the Swoosh for yet another project that involves the Nike Dunk High 1985. First revealed during its Fall/Winter 2021, the stealthy black and white pair has just been revealed through official imagery.
For the uppers of this installment, Jun Takahashi chooses to go with a mixture of different leather textures. The toe boxes, quarters and elongated collars are designed with premium tumbled leather while the overlays and Swooshes are done up with a smoother fabric, all of which are covered in solid black. Branding is what stands out the most on these lifestyle kicks as the tongues are styled with co-branded hits while the lower-left heels bear an oversized “CHAOS” hit and the right side reads “GLEICHGEWICHT”, which translates to “balance” in German. The heightened parts of the rear are also accessorized, the left foot showing a “NEUES LEBEN” spell out while the right side displays “NEUR LARM” text which is German for “New Life” and “New Noise.” Midsole wallpaper adds some extra flair as they are supplied with white paint splatter.
If interested in purchasing a pair, European retailers like Goodhood have these slated to drop on February 28 for £135 (approx. $183 USD).
In other news, Nike has just revealed a new LeBron 19 Low “Bred” colorway.
