Announced back in July of 2021, sacai will be releasing its SS22 capsule collection alongside a collaboration with Errolson Hugh’s ACRONYM. Chitose Abe’s label has been having quite the streak these past few years as the Japanese luxury brand continues to roll out new designs with Nike and KAWS while launching further collaborations with the likes of PORTER and Ultimate Breaks & Beats to name a few.

Abe sums up the new season’s collection as “Bonding,” to emphasize the meaning of unity as well as embody sacai’s known technique of combining different materials together. With ACRONYM, the duo looks to fuse two distinct ideas to create new designs in order to blend contrasting characteristics and ideas. The collection as a whole sees how sacai’s signature fabrics and cuts are implanted with ACRONYM’s imaginative technical elements in both neutral and stark tones.

“Having known Chitose, and of course sacai, for many years, this collaboration is the ideal kind of cross-pollination,” said Hugh. “And as I believe you can see from the results, it’s a true blend of the philosophies of both brands, where the sum is greater than the parts.”

On the men’s side, silhouettes such as bomber jackets, trench coats, parkas and shorts fill in the lineup to coincide with the transition into the warmer days. Catering to women, ACRONYM’s first-ever dress is a midi a-line structure complete with technical details. A cropped jacket, vest, woven skirt are also found in the mix.

The sacai x ACRONYM collaboration and SS22 collection is now available at sacai stores and the official website, sacai THE store with prices ranging from ¥99,000 JPY to ¥330,000 JPY (approximately $861 USD to $2,870 USD).

Elsewhere in fashion, Hood By Air is back to celebrate its past releases.
