Legendary record label Street Beat Records has partnered with sacai as a part of the upcoming exhibit “Style in Revolt,” taking place in Beijing, for a limited-edition capsule. Street Beat Records are behind the Ultimate Breaks & Beats series of some of the most well-known breakbeat tracks.

The “Style in Revolt” exhibit examines various elements that have had a hand in becoming the fundamental roots and evolution of street culture and the associated style. The exhibit is co-curated by Fraser Cooke of Nike, Paul Mittleman from Stüssy, James Lavelle from Unkle as well as Acyde and Sami Janjer. The concept of the exhibit pays homage to the grassroots movement that has merged skateboard culture with the birth of hip-hop.

The capsule pays homage to Ultimate Breaks & Beats (aka UBB), which is a series of 25 compilation albums released between 1986 to 1991 by Street Beat Records. In current hip-hop culture, the integral series has been sampled by many of the industry’s most elite producers including, Dr. Dre, Swizz Beatz, Kanye West, J Dilla, Just Blaze and Quest Love, just to name a few. The collection features two MA-1 bomber jackets in black and light army green, featuring the label’s iconic djing octopus embroidered on the back. The sacai x Ultimate Breaks & Beats co-branding is also seen on an array of T-shirts and hoodies in the staple black and white, red and purple.

The sacai x Ultimate Breaks & Beats collection is available starting on December 8 online at Dover Street Market Ginza.
