During the last Nintendo Direct event earlier this month, Nintendo announced that Mario Kart 8 Deluxe will be receiving a whole roster of new tracks and circuits via an upcoming paid DLC, but now it appears players will be able to access those maps as well even without paying.

According to Eurogamer, the Japanese gaming giant’s U.K. website revealed that those on Mario Kart 8 will be able to race others on the upcoming maps even if they don’t own the DLC themselves, but the feature comes with a few caveats. To experience these new tracks, you’ll have to select a Random map when playing Global or Regional races, and they’ll pop up by chance starting from March 22. Alternatively, you can also play Friends and Rivals modes with a companion who has paid for the Booster Course Pass, and they’ll be able to select those new tracks for your race. This feature will be open on March 18.

As for the entire DLC itself, Nintendo will be releasing 48 maps over the course of the next two years in six waves. Each wave will bring eight new tracks to the game, with the first bundle coming on March 18. The entire pack will cost $25 USD.

Elsewhere in gaming, a new Attack on Titan Armored Titan operator skin is coming to Call of Duty.
