With auctions for the blockbuster Louis Vuitton x Nike Air Force 1 by Virgil Abloh beginning to close, sales prices are being announced. Most of the pairs sold have gone for around the $100,000 USD mark, although Lot 1 — in a US 5 — reached considerably higher than that.

As with each of the 200 pairs, the size US 5 pair was on sale via Sotheby’s and reached a hammer price of $352,800 USD. This price makes it the most expensive pair to have sold, coming in at more than 23.5 times higher than the original estimate for each release, and exactly twice the price of the second most expensive (size US 5.5 and a hammer price of $176,400 USD).

As was announced when the collaboration was unveiled, Louis Vuitton’s proceeds from this sale will be donated to the Virgil Abloh “Post-Modern” Scholarship Fund. The fund was established by the late designer in partnership with the Fashion Scholarship Fund, in order to “support the education of academically promising students of Black, African American, or African descent.”
