High-tech running shoes from the mid-aughts through the early 2010s have found a second life as a popular casual choice over the past few years. ASICS, New Balance and Saucony have all contributed to the craze, and, never to be outdone, Nike has thrown their hat in the ring — albiet less frequently — with models like the hybrid P-6000 and the Zoom Vomero 5. It’s the latter model that’s in question today, as it’s surfaced in a brand-new brown and blue color scheme.

The specific pair in question, shown off by gc911, offers up a grey mesh base that’s embellished with a healthy scoop of dark brown accents plus small touches of sky blue for contrast. All the key Vomero branding and tech specs return as well, like a combo Zoom Air/Cushlon midsole setup and outsoles made with a mixture of BRS 1000 rubber and Duralon foam. A rich chocolate brown leather Swoosh brings the look together with its bold branded flair.

Originally released in 2010, the Zoom Vomero 5 had a flash of a lifestyle moment from late 2018 through the middle of 2020 thanks to A-COLD-WALL* collaborations and a handful of appealing in-line colorways. However, besides the collaborations, it was more of a sideshow than the main event back then as the drops were sporadic. This time around though it’s already appeared in almost a dozen colorways, meaning it’ll be a key piece of Nike Sportswear’s offerings moving forward.

A release date for this new Nike Zoom Vomero 5 colorway has yet to be announced, but when it does touch down it’ll retail for $160 USD.
