The Nike Dunk Mid "Panda" Receives a Release Date
Arriving early next month in a canvas build.
Update: Get ready as the
Original Story: In the sphere of mainstream sneaker palettes, few have surged in popularity quite like the “Panda” color scheme which has been made famous by the Nike Dunk Low and Dunk High — both of which have seen more restocks than we can keep track of at this point. And now, the black and white color-blocking is being transferred over to the Nike Dunk Mid.
While OG sneakerheads may be fatigued seeing this color combination, you’ve got to tip your hat to Nike for switching it up and modifying its construction. Instead of applying the usual smooth leather, Swoosh designers forge the solid black overlays and the angelic toe boxes, quarter panels, tongues and collars with canvas. However, the side panel Swoosh logos still retain their leather textures. Nike Sportswear logos appear on the tongues and heels, both of which are crafted with bright white finishes.
Given the versatility of “Panda” Dunks, it’s understandable why they continue to be such a strong seller for the Beaverton-based sportswear company. And quite frankly, it seems that Nike is going to keep running with the “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” mantra for as long as it can with this motif.
Expect Nike and select retailers to push these out in the coming months. You can also find more pairs via GOAT.
