Nicole McLaughlin and Reebok Reunite for Club C Geo Mid

Following teaser images of samples earlier this summer, Nicole McLaughlin and Reebok have now officially unveiled their latest collaboration, a take on one of Reebok’s latest women’s silhouettes, the Club C Geo Mid. With Mclaughlin beginning her career as a graphic designer for the sportswear label, the collaboration marks a full-circle moment. Best known for upcycling and repurposing miscellaneous objects such as bread loaves and tennis balls into thought-provoking, wearable pieces, McLaughlin’s upcoming footwear offering looks to draw from a variety of influences to create an ultra-functional sneaker.
“I dug into my knowledge of the Reebok archive and drew inspiration for these shoes from the 1996 Reebok Etna Mid,” said McLaughlin in a press release. “The idea was to take design cues from a forgotten model, apply them to a new silhouette, and upgrade it with modern materials and details such as ripstop nylon and reflective binding. I love the outdoors, hiking, and the trail, so I wanted to bring that into this project.”
Featured in a gridded white nylon base, defining elements of the shoe include an added mesh pocket below the collars lined with “nicolemclaughlin” text” — inspired by pockets found on hiking backpacks. The tongues feature a “lace garage” to tuck away shoelaces and a reflective strip wraps around the black leather panels. Rounding out the look are black elevated sole units with rugged outsoles.
“I am so honored to be welcomed back by Reebok as a collaborator and become a part of the brand’s history,” McLaughlin continues. “It is so rare for women to get recognition and collaborations in this space, and I feel lucky to have received that from a brand that has been a part of my life for almost a decade.”
The Nicole McLaughlin x Reebok Club C Geo Mid will be released globally via Reebok’s website and retailers beginning December 9.
