Nike Air Pegasus 83 Joins the "NAI-KE" Pack
“Elevating Inner Peace Through Sports.”
Back in 1979, Phil Knight launched “The One Line,” a logoless sub-brand that omitted the use of the Swoosh amidst Nike‘s legal battle with the U.S. Government. While the Swoosh has now returned, the legacy lives on today through Nike’s Asia-exclusive “NAI-KE” series. The latest entry to the lineup is the Nike Pegasus ‘83, which celebrates its 30th anniversary this year.
Arriving after several iterations of the Nike Air Force 1, the Pegasus ‘83 features a cream suede base layer with traditional woven overlays in burgundy and grays across the mudguard, eyestays, and heel counter. Sandy hues cover the hairy suede Swooshes and “NAI-KE” Chinese characters are embroidered on the heel tabs. Additional details include frayed panels secured on the midfoot and monochrome white leather tongue tabs featuring “The One Line” and “Elevating Inner Peace Through Sports” text. Rounding out the offering are tri-tone sole units featuring speckled brown outsoles and custom packaging.
Take a closer look at the Nike Air Pegasus 83 “Naike” above and expect the pairs to release early next year via Nike and select retailers.
