A Ma Maniére Announces Release Date for Its Air Jordan 4 Collab
The Whitaker Group is utilizing this release to encourage US voters to hit the polls this week.
A Ma Maniére is much more than just a curated retail chain that stocks streetwear and sneakers. James Whitner and his team over at The Whitaker Group have utilized it as a brand to advocate for change and creativity within the Black community. And the company is set to embark on its fourth partnership with Jordan Brand which entails a luxe Air Jordan 4 makeup that is intended to rally voters within the US to hit the polls for this week’s 2022 Midterm Election.
“We have always stated that what we do is about more than sneakers”, said Whitner. “On the eve of the midterm elections, while we have the anticipation and attention of the world on our next Jordan Brand project, it’s our responsibility to use our platform to ensure people – especially young people – show up to the polls and use their voice, use their vote and ask for the country to reflect their values.” The shoes are stylized with luxe “Violet Ore” uppers, quilted liners, the more favored Nike Air heel branding and text hits on the insides of the heels that read “It’s not about the shoes, it’s about where you’re going” which references the power of voting.
In addition to revealing beauty shots of the kicks, A Ma Maniére also pieced together a captivating short film that highlights the importance of voting that you can peep below.
The A Ma Maniére x Air Jordan 4 is launching in two ways. The first is through a social initiative that requires participants to share a video via Instagram or Twitter of them speaking on social issues that are most important to them. AMM is taking submissions until November 8 at 8pm EDT and you must tag your preferred TWG social channel and their local representative and/or a local, regional or national media outlet with the hashtag #myvoiceholdspower. An online release will take place on November 17.
