24 Kilates has reconnected with Diadora to rework its signature v7000 silhouette.

Over the years, the duo have been regular collaborators and have joined forces to curate some standout sneakers. For example, 24 Kilates and Diadora teamed up on the N9000 silhouette and it was a sleek design finished with a two-tone rope lace and perforated suede toe box. And while this new sneaker takes some of the same fundamentals to make it an excursion-ready sneaker with a chunky base, the V7000 is inspired by Cobi, a controversial Olympic mascot designed 30 years ago by Javier Mariscal.

The collaboration is aptly dubbed “Friends for Life” which was one of the songs played during the 1992 Olympics in Barcelona. However, the sneaker goes above and beyond the said song by using the message to define the friendship that 24 Kilates and Diadora have built over their six footwear collaborations.

For the design, the shoe has been assembled using three different types of leather; Nappa, pigskin, and horsy leather — a bovine fabrication with long fur that’s reminiscent of the Olympic mascot. The upper is coated with perforations and zigzag stitching while the midsole is complemented with a graduated spray. Rounding off the design, the insole features EVA graphics and sits in line with the embroidered patches on the tongue.

You can take a closer look at the 24 Kilates x Diadora collaboration above and the sneaker will be available on the official Diadora website from November 12.
