Law Roach, Patti Wilson and More To Be Honored at 2022 CFDA Fashion Awards
Roach will receive the trade association’s first-ever Stylist Award at this evening’s event.
The 2022 CFDA Fashion Awards are officially upon us.
The trade association’s honorary ceremony will take place on the evening of Monday, November 7, at Cipriani South Street at Casa Cipriani in Manhattan. With Natasha Lyonne set to host, the award show has already revealed a few high-profile trophy winners — among them, Law Roach will be honored with the CFDA’s first-ever Stylist Award, and Patti Wilson will receive the Media Award in honor of Eugenia Shepphard.
Roach, who was recently appointed as the West Coast Editor of British Vogue, boasts an impressive roster of clients, including Celine Dion, Ariana Grande, Hunter Schafer, Priyanka Chopra, and, most notably, Zendaya. Meanwhile, Wilson is a fashion force of her own, having shot myriad editorials for Vogue Italia, worked closely (and frequently) with Steven Meisel and Steven Klein, and styled top-shelf mavericks including Beyoncé and Cardi B.
Aside from honoring Roach and Wilson, the CFDA has solidified a lineup of additional award winners and presenters: Bradley Cooper will present the 2022 Fashion Icon award to Lenny Kravitz, and Anna Wintour will award Andrew Bolton with the Founder’s Award in honor of Eleanor Lambert. Further, The Board of Trustee’s Award, which posthumously honors Virgil Abloh, will be presented to the late designer’s wife Shannon Abloh.
There are, however, several awards that will be announced during the event, including American Menswear Designer of the Year and American Womenswear Designer of the Year. Fear of God’s Jerry Lorenzo, Bode’s Emily Bode Aujla, Amiri’s Mike Amiri, Thom Browne and Willy Chavarria are nominated for the former title, while Peter Do, Christopher John Rogers, LaQuan Smith, Gabriela Hearst and KHAITE’s Catherine Holstein are up for the latter trophy.
During the ceremony, Christina Ricci will announce the American Womenswear Designer of the Year award, and Trevor Noah will present the American Menswear Designer of the Year award. Meanwhile, Joel Kim Booster will announce the American Accessory Designer of the Year, and Keke Palmer will reveal the American Emerging Designer of the Year winner.
