Drake and The Weeknd have once again chosen not to submit their solo music for Grammy Awards consideration. While both artists’ names appear several times across the voter’s ballot for featured work, their individual albums — Drake’s Honestly, Nevermind and The Weeknd’s Dawn FM — do not appear on the official ticket, according to Pitchfork.

Last year, after receiving nominations for both Certified Lover Boy and “Way 2 Sexy” in two categories, Drake withdrew his music from awards consideration entirely. Drizzy has had a rocky history with the Recording Academy, dating back to 2017, when he skipped the Grammys ceremony after the Academy nominated “Hotline Bling” in the rap category when he had contended that the track was a pop song.

Meanwhile, The Weeknd outwardly expressed his frustrations with the Recording Academy last year, after his highly-popular album After Hours and its lead single “Blinding Lights” did not receive any nominations. In response, he said, “Because of the secret committees, I will no longer allow my label to submit my music to the Grammys.” Notably, he still took home the Grammy for Best Melodic Rap Performance that year for his contributions to Kanye West‘s “Hurricane.”

Earlier on Thursday, Bruno Mars announced that Silk Sonic — the R&B duo comprised of himself and Anderson .Paak — will not submit their album, An Evening With Silk Sonic, for 2023 Grammy Award consideration, either.

Stay tuned for more information on the 2023 Grammy nominations.
