Gucci and SUPERPLASTIC Unveil Three-Part Collaboration Dubbed "SUPERGUCCI"
Including CryptoJanky NFTs, ceramics and more.
Gucci and SUPERPLASTIC — the leading global brand behind limited-edition vinyl toys, animated celebrities and digital collectibles — have teamed up to launch SUPERGUCCI, a limited series of CryptoJanky NFTs and ceramic sculptures.
Arriving in three parts, the inaugural SUPERGUCCI drop will include ten exclusive NFTs and accompanying ceramic sculptures, each of which have been handmade in Italy and co-designed by both labels. “Each extremely limited and valuable NFT draws inspiration from Gucci’s signature patterns, icons, and symbols, reinterpreted through the lens of SUPERPLASTIC synthetic celebrities and artists, Janky & Guggimon,” a press release reads.
To mark the collaboration, SUPERLASTIC’s animated celebrities visited the digital Gucci Vault, the brand’s online concept store created by creative director Alessandro Michele, where they immersed themselves in both the history and the future of Gucci. The collaboration is indicative of both labels’ desire to experiment within the metaverse, following Gucci’s multitude of virtual experiences and its Aria NFT, along with SUPERPLASTIC’s widely profitable Janky Heist NFT drop.
In tandem with the collaboration’s release, Gucci Vault will also offer up its sixth collection of pre-owned vintage pieces, each of which has been hand-selected by Michele and the House’s archivists.
SUPERGUCCI’s first drop will become available on February 1 on SUPERPLASTIC’s website and via Gucci Vault.
