HOKA ONE ONE has released a limited-edition take on its Mafate Speed silhouette to mark its first release of 2022.
Most recently the centre of a collaboration alongside Italian luxury brand Moncler, the Mafate Speed 2 is a trail sneaker at its core and boasts innovative cushioning to enable comfortable movement over technical terrain.
This limited-edition take — which is dubbed “Origins” — arrives doused in shades of “Eggnog/Oxford Tan” and houses a deep Active Foot frame for support and a tuned meta-rocker underfoot for smooth transitions through the gait cycle.
Underfoot the outsole, which is smaller than we’ve come to expect from a classic HOKA silhouette, utilizes deep flex grooves which helps the sneaker adapt to a multitude of surfaces and a 5mm Vibram tread which helps on slippy terrain.
The Mafate Speed 2 “Origins” is available to buy now in limited quantities from the HOKA ONE ONE webstore, retailing at £150 (approximately $200 USD).
In other footwear news, adidas Y-3’s latest UltraBOOST 22 is reminiscent of the legendary Qasa.
