Eva Korsten and Dave Hendriks’ emerging Amsterdam-based footwear label YUME YUME is heavily inspired by Japanese culture — its name is even derived from the Japanese word for “Dream” — and as such, it creates sandals, mules, and slides informed by traditional silhouettes such as the Geta sandal. Now, its range of vegan footwear is available to buy from the London-based concept store UJNG, known for introducing lesser-known and East Asian names.

In its latest presentation, YUME YUME showcases basics such as the Suki sandal — a vegan leather and EVA foam sandal reminiscent of Japanese Geta styles. A thick band of Italian vegan leather wraps around the front, while the footbed is rectangular in its usual approach. Following on from the Suki is the Truck slide, which is inspired by the shoes that are worn by truckers. As such, it’s squared-off at the toe, incredibly cushy and padded, and is of course made from vegan leather.

Elevating this season’s offerings is YUME YUME’s Nawa Camp low and high. The former is more of a puffy slipper, while the latter incorporates a neoprene sock and webbing straps on the upper for a technical look. However, for those looking to really step outdoors, then look no further than YUME YUME’s hiking sandal, which is served in black and is paired with a Vibram hiking sole unit, an antibacterial lining, a strap-buckle closure, and touches of vegan leather.

Take a look at the range of YUME YUME silhouettes above, and shop all of them from UJNG’s website and store now.
