Fear of God Athletics Previews Collaborative adidas Products in New INNERSECT Exhibition
Jerry Lorenzo blends his brand’s modernity with the heritage of the Three Stripes imprint.
Right before 2020 concluded, Jerry Lorenzo announced that he was going to discontinue his short-lived partnership with Nike and take his talents to the adidas family. The Fear of God founder has plans to completely revamp the Three Stripes basketball global creative and business strategies, and release collaborative products under a new “Fear of God Athletics” division. Lorenzo has already teased a hoodie while he was spotted out court side at a Lakers game, but he’s officially previewed more pieces at the newest INNERSECT exhibition in Shanghai.
The immersive space is designed with stunning surround screens that are constantly playing sports-related footage such as aerial view of a basketball court, boxing ring, soccer field and running track while commentator bits tied to Three Stripes signees such as Damian Lillard and Billie Jean King blare in the background. Displayed inside a case on the back wall of one of the installations are a trifecta of Fear of God Athletics x adidas garments. A crewneck sweater, mock neck and a pullover hoodie hang gracefully inside its glass display, all of which are done up in a pale yellow hue and come emblazoned with a bold blue “adidas Fear of God” spell out across the front.
The entire exhibit is designed to commemorate the modernism of Fear of God with the rich heritage of the German sportswear brand, and it’s open to the public until January 23. Additionally, Lorenzo confirms that the full collection is slated to arrive later in 2022.
